Mira Anne Bhakta

Mira was introduced to the world of whiskey after her brother, Raj Peter Bhakta, founder and CEO of WhistlePig, joined forces with Master Distiller Dave Pickerell in 2009. Mira worked as a promotional spokesperson for various companies after graduating with a degree in Communications and Theater. Later, she earned her second degree in Education, teaching elementary and middle school for seven years in Philadelphia and abroad. Her enthusiasm for educating consumers and students alike proved to be quite infectious, and as the early years of WhistlePig evolved Mira felt inspired by the movement in her family. She pitched her brother on working for the company in 2012 and again in 2014. Raj challenged her to prove herself in their home market of Pennsylvania before considering a full-time position. Mira worked as teacher by day and WhistlePig enthusiast by night, and in less than a year she contributed to an irrefutable impact in her hometown of Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

Mira enjoys learning new languages, being in nature, staying physically fit, and adventurously traveling to exotic parts of the world. She has an insatiable thirst for learning in myriad and unlimited proportion: philosophy, science, education, spirituality, and of course, the inspiring and wonderful world of whiskey!
