There are many other fine ryes on the market, some of which are made by our good friends. But two essential things set WhistlePig apart. First, our rye is aged a minimum of ten years. At a time when other producers are moving away from age-statement whiskies to push younger product into a booming market, we offer the discerning consumer a product that has benefited from a full measure of time in the barrel. Second, our whiskey is bottled at 100 proof and above. Some may prefer to add a measure of water or ice to their whiskey, and this can certainly open new doors of flavor. Still, for those who enjoy a full-strength whiskey, we also raise our glass (and our proof) to you.
Rye vs. Bourbon
Different grains express different flavors. Most bourbon is made from corn. Our whiskey involves a pure expression of rye.
