Distillation

For all of its beauty, and despite the wonderful character of its people, Vermont is not always the easiest place to do business. Up until now, our whiskey has been distilled in western Canada and MGP Distillery in Lawrenceburg, IN. In the summer of 2014, after a 3 year legal process, we finally obtained a permit to construct our farm-based distillery. Come autumn 2015, we will be pumping out our first batch of whiskey made from rye grown within a stone’s throw of the fermenting tanks and still.  That whiskey will be aged in a warehouse a few hundred feet from where it was distilled, and a few hundred yards from where it started its life as rye grain. We’ve spent years rolling up our sleeves to bring the world’s finest old rye to the world’s top shelves; with this milestone, our singular mission of creating America’s finest grain-to-glass single-estate luxury rye whiskey will come full circle.
