#12) WhistlePig Farm Map

Thanks to the illustrative stylings of Maria Rabinky, our stunning farm was captured in all its glory. From the hiking trail to the pig pen, from the rye fields to the pig pens, the WhistlePig Farm has never looked better.

#11) WhistlePig Distillation Infographic

With the construction of our magnificent distillery (more on that later), this infographic came in very handy. Made with the assistance of Master Distiller Dave Pickerell, this image explains every step in the distillation process at WhistlePig Farm. We’re not sure you’d be able to build your own distillery based on these instructions, but nonetheless you’ll be able to impress your friends next time you pop open a bottle.

#10) SVRA

There is a strange similarity between the 2014 Boss Hog pewter stopper and the flying lady on this 100% authentic 1935 Rolls Royce. As sponsors at Sportscar Vintage Racing Association events in the spring, we were thrilled to take the wheel and drive into the sunset.

#9) First Inaugural Rye Heritage Month Event

In pursuit of making November official Rye Heritage Month, we hosted a special event with guests from six rye distilleries: WhistlePig, Bulleit, George Dickel, High West, Hillrock, and Hudson. The evening began with a panel seminar from leaders in the whiskey world – Dave Pickerell of WhistlePig and Hillrock, Distiller Allisa Henley from George Dickel, and Noah Rothbaum, celebrated journalist and author of The Art of American Whiskey. This event promises to be even more extraordinary in 2016, and we are confident in our ability to spread appreciation for America’s original spirit far and wide.

#8) First induction for the League of the Flying Pig

In September, the first inductees to the League of the Flying Pig joined our ranks. Together, we planted an oak tree to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to sustainability, the environment, and finely crafted whiskey. Still in its infancy, we eagerly anticipate the development of this program and the induction of new members year after year.

#7) A Visit from Santa

Company potluck, 30 children, and a surprise visit from Santa. Need we say more?

#6) Company Retreat

For the first time in our history, the entire company joined together for merriment, meals, and mandatory team-building. Let’s just say this: what happens in Vermont, stays in Vermont.

#5) Happy April Fools’ Day

Named one of the top April Fools videos of 2015 by Men’s Journal, we had a great time filming Winston, the anthropomorphic barrel who does yoga, gets massages, and costs only $20,000 dollars per bottle. “Bottoms up to the top one percent.”

#4) Five Months, One Video

Patience is a virtue, and when the raw footage from our 5-month distillery construction time lapse emerged from the camera we gazed in rapt attention at the screen. Distilling a few minutes from five months of footage – on two cameras! – was no mean feat, but we think you’ll enjoy these highlights.

#3) The WhistlePig Tasting Room

Located inside Danforth Pewter on Seymour Street in Middlebury, you can now sample – and purchase – WhistlePig whiskey and merchandise. You might have to take a trip to Vermont, but now you can get your very own tumbler, t-shirt, or pewter flying Mortimer pig.

#2) 12 Year Old World Marriage

Unsurprisingly, the launch of our Old World Series was an extraordinary milestone for the company. Not only did the Sauternes finish earn double gold and “best rye” at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, but this product became a permanent line extension, our first after the signature 10 Year. Having been finished in a perfect marriage of Port, Sauternes, and Madeira casks, this flavorful rye is simultaneously sweet and robust. The first of its kind in rye whiskies, the WhistlePig 12 Year isn’t a bottle you buy for your friends. It’s a bottle you buy for yourself.

#1) Opening of the WhistlePig Distillery

Of course, the opening of our brand new distillery is the crowning achievement of 2015. Custom designed by Master Distiller Dave Pickerell himself and constructed at Vendome Copper, our still is a monument to our craft. Since October it has been producing rye whiskey, and we look forward to bringing this liquid from our farm to your glass in the near future.
