Named for courageous clandestine folk who sipped spirits through the dark days of Prohibition, this glorious libation is both potent enough to satisfy the heartiest of drinkers AND smooth enough to down in one gulp if you should need to make a hasty escape (from Prohibition police, a talkative old classmate – use your imagination).

1 1/2 oz. WhistlePig Straight Rye Whiskey
1 oz. dry vermouth
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz. grenadine

 

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake hard with ice for approximately ten seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a citrus twist, if desired. Cheers!
